Perlite dose of 0.5 Litre
Perlite is obtained by heating a natural silicate of volcanic origin at a high temperature of 1200°C. Its fusion gives it its appearance of small light, porous and brittle spheres.
for orchids, perlite is used to lighten substrates such as peat, which tends to settle with watering.
It is particularly suitable for the production of an abundant and homogeneous root hair: this is why it is used for sowing and cutting at a rate of 25%, by volume, in the culture medium.
Its very high porosity (96 to 97%) allows it to retain the water that infiltrates into the heart of its grains by capillarity. It then serves as a buffer reserve, keeps water at the disposal of plants, and regulates watering.
